In a Gurukul, learning began with sunrise and continued through rituals, reading, physical training, and discussions. Subjects ranged from the Vedas and Upanishads to astronomy, architecture, martial arts, music, Ayurveda, and mathematics. Education was free, and students offered guru dakshina — a token of gratitude — only after completing their studies. This made education accessible to those who were committed, regardless of their economic background.
