The third sanskar out of the 16 Sanskars in Hinduism is Simantonnayana (or Simantonnayan), a ritual performed during pregnancy to ensure the mental and physical well-being of the unborn child and the mother, and to promote a positive environment for the child's development. Commonly known as Srimant Vidhi, it is a ritual where the family gathers to bless the mother and the un-born child.
